The Hand Surgery Program team comprises an experienced group of fellowship-trained healthcare professionals including surgeons, nurse practitioners, nurses and support staff exclusively dedicated to caring for people with hand injuries or trauma, diseases, and conditions.

Each of our surgical and nonsurgical teams is specifically trained in identifying and treating injuries and conditions of the hand and wrist, such as:

All the health professionals in our multidisciplinary Hand Surgery Program work closely with specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to provide top-notch hand rehabilitation. By having all specialists collaborating on your care, you have the strength of Mayo Clinic's collective expertise. In addition to exams and personalized medical plans, many patients receive nonsurgical procedures from our fellowship-trained physicians during outpatient appointments, such as:

  • Tendinopathy management such as percutaneous tenotomy.
  • Ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release.
  • Ultrasound-guided cortisone injections.

Hand and upper extremity therapy

Occupational and physical therapists in hand rehabilitation provide on-site services, working in tandem with health professionals providing surgical and nonsurgical care. Our fellowship-trained therapists provide services that include:
