Shabana F. Pasha, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Her clinical interests include:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases
  • Evaluation and endoscopic treatment of patients with suspected small bowel bleeding and other small bowel disorders, including inflammation, polyps and tumors
  • Screening and prevention of colorectal cancer
  • Performance of balloon assisted colonoscopy for patients with prior incomplete or difficult colonoscopies

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Pasha is actively involved in basic and clinical research She is co-founder of the Mayo Clinic IBD Biobank and has collaborative biomarker research with Arizona State University. She is also involved in innovative research including artificial intelligence in capsule endoscopy.

Dr. Pasha is on the Executive Admissions Committee and a GIH teaching faculty at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. She provides mentorship to medical students, residents and fellows. She has been invited to present at national and international gastroenterology meetings, authors expert content and publishes in high-impact scientific journals.
