Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blood in the urine
  3. bloody stools
  4. blurred vision
  5. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  6. chest pain or discomfort
  7. confusion
  8. coughing up blood
  9. difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  10. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  11. excessive bruising
  12. headache
  13. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  14. nosebleeds
  15. paralysis
  16. peeling of the skin
  17. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  18. red or black, tarry stools
  19. red or dark brown urine
  20. stomach pain with cramping
  21. sweating
  22. unexplained swelling
  23. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Arm, back, or jaw pain
  2. blue-green to black skin discoloration
  3. blue or purple toes
  4. change in consciousness
  5. chest tightness or heaviness
  6. chills
  7. clay-colored stools
  8. diarrhea
  9. dizziness
  10. fainting or loss of consciousness
  11. fast or irregular breathing
  12. fast or irregular heartbeat
  13. fever
  14. itching or skin rash
  15. light-colored stools
  16. loss of appetite
  17. nausea and vomiting
  18. pain in the toes
  19. pain, redness, or sloughing of the skin
  20. pale skin
  21. purplish red, net-like, blotchy spots on the skin
  22. skin blisters
  23. small red or purple spots on the skin
  24. stomach pain
  25. swelling of the eyes or eyelids
  26. troubled breathing with exertion
  27. unpleasant breath odor
  28. unusual bleeding or bruising
  29. upper right stomach pain
  30. vomiting of blood
  31. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Joint pain
  2. muscle pain

Rare

  1. Bloated
  2. change in taste, or bad, unusual, or unpleasant (after) taste
  3. cold intolerance
  4. excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
  5. full feeling
  6. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  7. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  8. hives or welts
  9. lack or loss of strength
  10. pain
  11. passing gas
  12. red, sore, or itching skin
  13. sores, welting, or blisters
  14. unusual drowsiness, dullness, or feeling of sluggishness
