Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. attack, assault, force
  4. confusion
  5. increased fat deposits on the face, neck, and trunk
  6. irritability
  7. mental depression
  8. mood or other mental changes
  9. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blindness
  3. blurred vision
  4. bone pain
  5. chest tightness
  6. cough or hoarseness
  7. darkening of the skin
  8. decreased vision
  9. diarrhea
  10. difficulty swallowing
  11. dizziness
  12. eye pain
  13. fainting
  14. fast heartbeat
  15. fever or chills
  16. headache
  17. hives, itching, skin rash
  18. loss of appetite
  19. lower back or side pain
  20. mental depression
  21. muscular pain, tenderness, wasting, or weakness
  22. nausea
  23. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  24. painful or difficult urination
  25. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  26. severe vomiting, sometimes with blood
  27. skin rash
  28. slurred speech
  29. stomach cramps or pain
  30. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  31. sudden loss of coordination
  32. tearing
  33. trouble breathing
  34. unusual tiredness or weakness
  35. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bone malformations
  2. frequent bone fractures
  3. weight increased

Less common

  1. Increased appetite
  2. sneezing
  3. stuffy or runny nose

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
