Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. bloody nose
  3. blurred vision
  4. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  5. clay colored stools
  6. dark urine
  7. decreased or loss of appetite
  8. dizziness
  9. fever
  10. headache
  11. mood or mental changes
  12. nausea and vomiting
  13. nervousness
  14. pale skin
  15. pounding in the ears
  16. severe diarrhea
  17. skin rash, itching
  18. slow or fast heartbeat
  19. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  20. stomach pain or tenderness
  21. trouble breathing
  22. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  23. unusual bleeding or bruising
  24. unusual tiredness or weakness
  25. weakness of the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  26. yellow eyes or skin

Less common

  1. Muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
  2. loss of bladder control
  3. seizures
  4. sudden loss of consciousness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. chest tightness
  3. constipation
  4. difficulty in moving
  5. flushing
  6. loss of weight
  7. muscle pain or stiffness
  8. pain in the joints
  9. redness, swelling, pain of the skin
  10. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  11. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  12. ulceration of the skin
