Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bluish-colored lips, fingernails, or palms
  2. dark urine
  3. difficulty breathing
  4. dizziness or lightheadedness
  5. fever
  6. headache
  7. pale skin
  8. rapid heartbeat
  9. sore throat
  10. unusual bleeding or bruising
  11. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Abnormal dreams
  2. anxiety
  3. discouragement
  4. feeling sad or empty
  5. hives or welts, itching, skin rash
  6. irritability
  7. lack of appetite
  8. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  9. loss of interest or pleasure
  10. redness of the skin
  11. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  12. trouble concentrating
  13. trouble sleeping

Rare

  1. Agitation
  2. back, leg, or stomach pains
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. bleeding gums
  5. blood in the urine or stools
  6. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  7. chills
  8. clay-colored stools
  9. diarrhea
  10. fainting
  11. fast heartbeat
  12. general body swelling
  13. hoarseness
  14. increased sensitivity to pain
  15. increased sensitivity to touch
  16. irritation
  17. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  18. nausea
  19. nosebleed
  20. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  21. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  22. tightness in the chest
  23. tremor
  24. trouble with swallowing
  25. trouble breathing
  26. unpleasant breath odor
  27. vomiting
  28. vomiting of blood
  29. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blurred vision or any other change in vision
  2. eye redness, irritation, or pain

Less common

  1. Motion sickness

Rare

  1. Change in color vision
  2. decreased vision
  3. difficulty seeing at night
  4. increased sense of hearing
  5. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  6. loss of memory
  7. night blindness
  8. poor coordination
  9. problems with memory
  10. seeing floating dark spots or material before the eyes
