Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bloating
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. change in ability to see colors, especially blue or yellow
  5. chills
  6. constipation
  7. cough
  8. darkened urine
  9. darkening of the skin
  10. depressed mood
  11. diarrhea
  12. difficulty swallowing
  13. dizziness
  14. dry mouth
  15. dry skin and hair
  16. fainting
  17. fast heartbeat
  18. feeling cold
  19. fever
  20. flushed, dry skin
  21. fruit-like breath odor
  22. hair loss
  23. headache
  24. hives, itching, skin rash
  25. hoarseness or husky voice
  26. increased hunger
  27. increased thirst
  28. increased urination
  29. indigestion
  30. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  31. loss of appetite
  32. loss of consciousness
  33. loss of fat or tissue weakness in the skin area at the injection site
  34. mental depression
  35. muscle cramps and stiffness
  36. nausea
  37. nervousness
  38. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  39. pale skin
  40. persistent non-healing sore
  41. pink growth
  42. pounding in the ears
  43. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  44. reddish patch or irritated area
  45. shiny bump
  46. slow or fast heartbeat
  47. stomach pain
  48. sweating
  49. swelling
  50. thickening of the skin
  51. tightness in the chest
  52. trouble breathing
  53. unexplained weight loss
  54. unusual bleeding or bruising
  55. unusual tiredness or weakness
  56. vomiting
  57. weight gain
  58. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area
  59. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. back pain
  3. belching
  4. difficulty in moving
  5. heartburn
  6. muscle pain or stiffness
  7. pain in the joints
  8. stomach discomfort or upset
  9. trouble sleeping
