Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Breakdown of the skin
  2. irritation and redness of the skin
  3. scabbing
  4. swelling of the eyelid
  5. swelling of the skin

Less common

  1. Discharge at the site of application
  2. sores on the skin that do not heal

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  2. blurred vision or other change in vision
  3. eye redness, irritation, or pain
  4. hives or welts
  5. itching, scaling, or severe redness of the skin
  6. persistent non-healing sore
  7. pink growth on the skin
  8. reddish patch or irritated area on the skin
  9. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  10. seeing floating spots before the eyes, or a veil or curtain appearing across part of the vision
  11. shiny bump on the skin
  12. skin rash, encrusted, scaly and oozing
  13. white, yellow, or waxy scar-like area on the skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Darkening of the skin
