Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Difficulty with swallowing
  2. dizziness
  3. fast heartbeat
  4. hives
  5. itching
  6. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  7. shortness of breath
  8. skin rash
  9. tightness in the chest
  10. unusual tiredness or weakness
  11. wheezing

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. agitation
  3. back, leg, or stomach pains
  4. bleeding gums
  5. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  6. bloating of abdomen
  7. blood in the urine or stools
  8. bloody, black, or tarry stools
  9. chest pain
  10. chills
  11. coma
  12. confusion
  13. cough or hoarseness
  14. dark urine
  15. decreased urine output
  16. depression
  17. diarrhea
  18. difficulty with breathing
  19. fever with or without chills
  20. fluid-filled skin blisters
  21. general body swelling
  22. general tiredness and weakness
  23. headache
  24. high fever
  25. hostility
  26. irritability
  27. joint or muscle pain
  28. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  29. lethargy
  30. light-colored stools
  31. loss of appetite
  32. lower back or side pain
  33. muscle twitching
  34. nausea and vomiting
  35. nosebleeds
  36. painful or difficult urination
  37. pale skin
  38. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  39. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  40. rapid weight gain
  41. red, irritated eyes
  42. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  43. seizures
  44. sensitivity to the sun
  45. skin thinness
  46. sore throat
  47. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  48. stupor
  49. swelling of face, ankles, or hands
  50. swollen or painful glands
  51. unusual bleeding or bruising
  52. upper right abdominal or stomach pain
  53. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. cold sweats
  4. cool, pale skin
  5. increased hunger
  6. nightmares
  7. shakiness
  8. slurred speech

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Lack or loss of strength

Incidence not known

  1. Redness or other discoloration of the skin
  2. severe sunburn

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
