Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

1. Acid or sour stomach
2. anxiety
3. backache
4. belching
5. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
6. bloating
7. blurred vision
8. breast tenderness, enlargement, pain, or discharge
9. change in vaginal discharge
10. changes in skin color
11. changes in vision
12. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
13. chills
14. clay-colored stools
15. clear or bloody discharge from the nipple
16. confusion
17. constipation
18. cough
19. darkening of the urine
20. diarrhea
21. difficulty with swallowing
22. dimpling of the breast skin
23. dizziness or lightheadedness
24. double vision
25. fainting
26. fast heartbeat
27. fever
28. fluid-filled skin blisters
29. full or bloated feeling or pressure in the stomach
30. headache
31. headache, severe and throbbing
32. heartburn
33. hives, itching, skin rash
34. indigestion
35. inverted nipple
36. irregular heartbeat
37. itching of the vagina or genital area
38. joint or muscle pain
39. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
40. light-colored stools
41. loss of appetite
42. loss of bladder control
43. lump in the breast or under the arm
44. migraine headache
45. mood or mental changes
46. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
47. muscle spasm or jerking of all extremities
48. nausea
49. noisy breathing
50. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
51. pain during sexual intercourse
52. pain in the ankles or knees
53. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
54. pain or feeling of pressure in the pelvis
55. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm, foot, or leg
56. painful, red lumps under the skin, mostly on the legs
57. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
58. persistent crusting or scaling of the nipple
59. poor insight and judgment
60. problems with memory or speech
61. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
62. red, irritated eyes
63. redness or swelling of the breast
64. seizures
65. sensitivity to the sun
66. skin thinness
67. sore on the skin of the breast that does not heal
68. sore throat
69. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
70. stomach cramps, discomfort, upset, pain, or swelling
71. sudden loss of consciousness
72. sudden trouble breathing
73. sweating
74. thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
75. tremor
76. trouble recognizing objects
77. trouble thinking and planning
78. trouble walking
79. unexpected or excess milk flow from the breasts
80. unpleasant breath odor
81. unusual tiredness or weakness
82. unusually heavy or unexpected menstrual bleeding
83. vaginal bleeding or spotting
84. vomiting
85. vomiting of blood
86. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

1. Back pain
2. difficulty with moving
3. muscle aches, pain, or stiffness
4. stuffy or runny nose

Incidence not known

1. Decreased interest in sexual intercourse
2. heavy bleeding
3. increased hair growth, especially on the face
4. increased in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
5. increased interest in sexual intercourse
6. irritability
7. leg cramps
8. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
9. loss of scalp hair
10. mental depression
11. mood disturbances
12. patchy brown or dark brown discoloration of the skin
13. redness of the skin
14. twitching, uncontrolled movements of the tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs
15. weight changes
