Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  3. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  4. bloody or cloudy urine
  5. blue lips and fingernails
  6. blurred vision
  7. body aches or pain
  8. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  9. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  10. confusion
  11. cough
  12. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  13. difficult or labored breathing
  14. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  15. dizziness or lightheadedness
  16. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  17. ear congestion
  18. facial swelling
  19. fainting
  20. fast or irregular heartbeat
  21. fever or chills
  22. frequent urge to urinate
  23. headache
  24. increased sweating
  25. itching
  26. loss of voice
  27. nausea or vomiting
  28. nervousness
  29. painful blisters on the trunk of the body
  30. pale skin
  31. pounding in the ears
  32. rapid weight gain
  33. runny or stuffy nose
  34. sore throat
  35. swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet
  36. tingling of the hands or feet
  37. trouble breathing
  38. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  39. unusual bleeding or bruising
  40. unusual tiredness or weakness
  41. unusual weight gain or loss

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating
  2. darkened urine
  3. difficulty swallowing
  4. hives
  5. indigestion
  6. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  7. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  8. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. constipation
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty in moving
  6. loss of appetite
  7. muscle pain or stiffness
  8. pain in the joints
  9. rash
  10. sleeplessness
  11. stomach pain
  12. trouble sleeping
  13. unable to sleep
