Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness
  5. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  6. feeling lightheaded or faint
  7. headache
  8. hives, welts, itching, skin rash
  9. irritability
  10. lightheadedness
  11. mood or other mental changes
  12. nervousness
  13. nightmares
  14. numbness or tingling in the arms or legs
  15. redness of the skin
  16. restlessness
  17. seizures
  18. shakiness or trembling in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  19. sweating
  20. trouble sleeping
  21. trouble thinking, speaking, or walking
  22. unusual feeling of excitement

Rare

  1. Chest discomfort or pain
  2. discouragement
  3. feeling sad or empty
  4. hallucinations
  5. lack of appetite
  6. loss of interest or pleasure
  7. severe mental changes
  8. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  9. trouble breathing
  10. trouble concentrating
  11. unusual tiredness or weakness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. change in consciousness
  3. dark-colored urine
  4. diarrhea
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  6. fever
  7. loss of consciousness
  8. muscle cramps, spasms, pain, or stiffness
  9. nausea
  10. nervousness
  11. physical attempt to injure oneself
  12. pounding in the ears
  13. rapid, shallow breathing
  14. severe anxiety or feeling of panic
  15. stomach cramps
  16. violent actions
  17. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Decrease in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  2. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  3. dry mouth
  4. inability to have or keep an erection
  5. increase in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  6. increased interest in sexual intercourse
  7. unpleasant taste
