Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Chest tightness
  2. falls
  3. fast heartbeat
  4. fever
  5. hives, itching, skin rash
  6. hoarseness
  7. irritation
  8. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  9. redness of the skin
  10. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  11. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  12. trouble with breathing or swallowing
  13. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. confusion
  3. dizziness, fainting, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  4. false beliefs that cannot be changed by facts
  5. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  6. sweating

Incidence not known

  1. Back, leg, or stomach pains
  2. bleeding gums
  3. chills
  4. dark urine
  5. general body swelling
  6. headache
  7. loss of appetite
  8. nausea
  9. nosebleeds
  10. pale skin
  11. sore throat
  12. vomiting
  13. yellowing of the eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Dry mouth
  2. irritation, redness, numbness, swelling, or soreness of the mouth
  3. runny nose
  4. tearing of the skin
