مُنح ترخيص أول لقاح للحصبة الألمانية في الولايات المتحدة. وقد كانت الولايات المتحدة تشهد كل عام في القرن العشرين 47 ألف حالة إصابة تقريبًا بالحصبة الألمانية مقارنة بست حالات فقط في عام 2020. وكانت تحدث 152 حالة إصابة سنويًا تقريبًا بمتلازمة الحصبة الألمانية الخلقية في الولايات المتحدة في القرن العشرين مقارنة بعدم وجود أية حالات في عام 2020.
