الأبحاث
Mayo Clinic researchers are involved in many studies related to triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Mayo Clinic doctors often inform eligible patients about opportunities to participate in research studies and clinical trials related to advancements in the treatment of breast cancer.
Areas of research include:
- Analyzing the genetic makeup of breast cancer cells to understand how DNA changes affect response to cancer treatments and personalize treatment options.
- Studying whether people with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who have high levels of immune cells within their tumors may have a lower risk of recurrence and better survival rates.
- Using viruses to treat noninvasive breast cancer, triple-negative breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer.
- Studying breast imaging techniques, such as dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, contrast-enhanced digital mammography and molecular breast imaging.
- Making treatment safer using new technology, such as proton beam therapy to shape radiation beams that reach left-sided breast cancer but spare the heart.
Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of a select group of facilities that received a Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant for breast cancer research from the U.S. National Cancer Institute. Learn more about the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer SPORE.
