Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Absence of or decrease in body movement
  2. actions that are out of control
  3. agitation
  4. anxiety
  5. black, tarry stools
  6. bleeding gums
  7. blood in the urine or stools
  8. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  9. chest pain
  10. chills
  11. confusion
  12. confusion about identity, place, and time
  13. cough
  14. dark urine
  15. decrease in frequency of urination
  16. decrease in urine volume
  17. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  18. depression
  19. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  20. dizziness
  21. dry mouth
  22. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  23. fever with or without chills
  24. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  25. headache
  26. hoarseness
  27. hostility
  28. hyperventilation
  29. increased need to urinate
  30. irritability
  31. light-colored stools
  32. longer than usual time to ejaculation of semen
  33. loss of bladder control
  34. loss of consciousness
  35. lower back or side pain
  36. muscle twitching
  37. nausea
  38. nervousness
  39. painful or difficult urination
  40. pale skin
  41. passing urine more often
  42. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  43. rapid weight gain
  44. restlessness
  45. seizures
  46. severe sleepiness
  47. shakiness and unsteady walk
  48. sore throat
  49. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  50. sudden jerky movements of the body
  51. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  52. swollen glands
  53. talking, feeling, and acting with excitement
  54. trouble with sleeping
  55. troubled breathing with exertion
  56. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  57. unusual bleeding or bruising
  58. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  59. upper right abdominal pain
  60. vomiting
  61. yellow eyes and skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Blurred vision
  2. constipation
  3. continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  4. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  5. diarrhea
  6. drowsiness
  7. dry mouth
  8. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  9. hearing loss
  10. hives or welts, itching, skin rash
  11. inability to have or keep an erection
  12. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  13. loss of appetite
  14. memory loss
  15. muscle spasm
  16. redness of the skin
  17. stomach pain
  18. unable to sleep
  19. weakness
  20. weight loss
