Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bloating
  3. blurry vision
  4. chest tightness
  5. chills
  6. confusion
  7. constipation
  8. cough
  9. dark urine
  10. difficulty breathing
  11. dizziness
  12. dry mouth
  13. fainting
  14. fast heartbeat
  15. fever
  16. flushed, dry skin
  17. fruit-like breath odor
  18. hives, itching, skin rash
  19. hoarseness
  20. increased hunger
  21. increased thirst
  22. increased urination
  23. indigestion
  24. irritation
  25. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  26. lightheadedness
  27. loss of appetite
  28. lower back or side pain
  29. nausea
  30. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  31. painful or difficult urination
  32. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  33. pale skin
  34. redness of the skin
  35. severe, sudden headache
  36. slurred speech
  37. sore throat
  38. stomach pain
  39. sudden loss of coordination
  40. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  41. sweating
  42. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  43. trouble breathing
  44. trouble swallowing
  45. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  46. unexplained weight loss
  47. unusual bleeding or bruising
  48. unusual tiredness or weakness
  49. vision changes
  50. vomiting
  51. yellow eyes or skin

Less common

  1. Sneezing

Incidence not known

  1. Continuing nausea or vomiting
  2. increase in the frequency of seizures
  3. light-colored stools
