Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in urine or stools
  4. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  5. pinpoint red spots on skin
  6. unusual bleeding or bruising


  1. Painful sensations
  2. shakiness in legs, arms, hands, feet
  3. trembling or shaking of hands or feet
  4. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  5. weakness in arms, hands, legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. back pain
  3. belching
  4. bloated, full feeling
  5. change in vision
  6. cramps
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  9. dizziness
  10. dry mouth
  11. excess air or gas in stomach or intestines
  12. full or bloated feeling or pressure in the stomach
  13. headache
  14. heartburn
  15. heaviness in limbs
  16. indigestion
  17. leg cramps
  18. loss of appetite
  19. memory loss
  20. menstrual changes
  21. nausea
  22. pain or discomfort in chest, upper stomach, or throat
  23. passing gas
  24. stomach discomfort, upset or pain
  25. swelling
  26. swelling of abdominal or stomach area
  27. unsteady walk
  28. vomiting
  29. weakness
  30. weight loss
