Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. behavior change similar to being drunk
  3. blurred vision
  4. chills
  5. cold sweats
  6. confusion
  7. cool, pale skin
  8. difficulty with thinking
  9. dizziness or lightheadedness
  10. drowsiness
  11. excessive hunger
  12. fast heartbeat
  13. headache
  14. nausea
  15. nervousness
  16. nightmares
  17. restless sleep
  18. seizures
  19. shakiness
  20. slurred speech
  21. tingling in the hands, feet, lips, or tongue
  22. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common or rare

  1. Depression or thickening of the skin at the injection site
  2. fast pulse
  3. itching, pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  4. skin rash or itching over the entire body
  5. sweating
  6. trouble breathing

Incidence not known

  1. Bloating or swelling of the face, hands, lower legs, or feet
  2. cough
  3. decreased urine
  4. difficulty with swallowing
  5. dry mouth
  6. hives
  7. increased thirst
  8. irregular heartbeat
  9. muscle pain or cramps
  10. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  11. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  12. rapid weight gain
  13. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Fever
  2. sore throat
  3. stuffy or runny nose
