Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chest pain
  4. chills
  5. cold sweats
  6. confusion
  7. cool, pale skin
  8. decreased urine output
  9. depression
  10. dilated neck veins
  11. dizziness
  12. extreme tiredness or weakness
  13. fast heartbeat
  14. headache
  15. increased hunger
  16. irregular breathing
  17. irregular heartbeat
  18. nausea
  19. nightmares
  20. seizures
  21. shakiness
  22. slurred speech
  23. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  24. tightness in the chest
  25. troubled breathing
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. weight gain

Rare

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. bloating
  3. blood in the urine
  4. constipation
  5. cough
  6. darkened urine
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficulty with swallowing
  9. feeling of discomfort
  10. fever
  11. frequent, strong, or increased urge to urinate
  12. hives, itching, or rash
  13. indigestion
  14. inflammation of the joints
  15. joint or muscle pain
  16. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  17. loss of appetite
  18. muscle aches
  19. pain in the back, lower abdomen, or stomach
  20. painful urination
  21. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  22. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  23. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  24. red, irritated eyes
  25. sore throat
  26. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  27. swollen lymph glands
  28. vomiting
  29. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Change in vision
  2. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  3. light-colored stools
  4. severe joint pain
  5. stomach pain, continuing

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. body aches or pain
  3. ear congestion
  4. loss of voice
  5. sneezing
  6. stuffy or runny nose
