Asleep DBS eliminates the need for microelectrode testing during surgery

In asleep deep brain stimulation (DBS), intraoperative MRI guides electrode placement for the treatment of patients with Parkinson's disease, dystonia, essential tremor and other conditions. Patients do not need to remain awake during DBS to help guide electrode placement.

Oral microbial therapeutic promising for recurrent CDI

A new, orally delivered microbial therapy has proved nearly 100 percent effective at preventing recurrent Clostridium difficile infection in preliminary clinical trials.

A new study finds that the expanded age-of-onset criterion for ADHD increases prevalence by nearly 3.5 percent. The increase is greatest among children with inattentive symptoms and those from low-income and minority families.
