Vivek Roy, M.D.

My compassion and care comes through when I talk to the patients. I listen to them, give them what we can do for those patients. I'm Vivek Roy. I'm a hematologist consultant at Mayo Clinic.

Most important is to maintain a sense of hope for the patients, to tell them about their disease truthfully. We pay attention to the patients' surroundings, their families. And what I have found is, with that approach, you can make a connection with the patient. And to be able to come up with an answer for them that can really help them is very rewarding.
