1. Detection of Vascular and Inflammatory Plasma Biomarkers in Patients Diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and MRI-defined Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate plasma biomarkers of vascular function and inflammation in patients with newly-diagnosed Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and pre-existing imaging evidence of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (CSVD).

2. ARTFL LEFFTDS Longitudinal Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration (ALLFTD)

   Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to evaluate sporadic (s-) and familial (f-) frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) patients and asymptomatic family members of f-FTLD patients, characterizing the cohorts longitudinally and informing clinical trial design.  FTLD is a neurodegenerative disorder of the nervous system which there are no approved treatments or cures.

   The study has two arms: a “longitudinal arm” involving a comprehensive assessment of clinical, functional, imaging, and biofluid data collection, and a “biofluid-focused arm” involving limited clinical data to accompany biospecimen collection.

3. Image-based Mapping of Brain Tumors

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to combine MRI images with histologic and genetic analysis of cancer (from blood and tissue samples) to improve the overall accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of cancer treatment.

    

4. A Registry Called Every Child for Collecting Data and Biology Specimens on Younger Patients with Cancer

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this registry called Every Child, is to collect data and biospecimens from multiple body sources for younger patients with cancer over time. Gathering health information over time from younger patients with cancer may help doctors find better methods of treatment and on-going care.

5. A Registry to Follow Long-Term Outcomes for Mother and Child Pairs After Fetal Surgery for Spina Bifida

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to form a registry of data on the long term physical and mental health outcomes of the mother and child following fetal surgical repair for spina bifida.

6. Inherited Muscle Diseases Repository

   Rochester, Minn.

   To establish a repository of DNA samples collected prospectively from patients with inherited myopathies of unknown molecular and/or biochemical defect. To access residual muscle specimens from diagnostic muscle biopsies obtained as part of the routine medical care. The biospecimens will be used to better understanding the underlying molecular defects and mechanisms of muscle diseases.

7. Brain Health and Dementia Prevention Registry

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to create a registry of patients having a clinical diagnosis and collect demographics, cognitive testing, blood and cerebrospinal fluid so that biomarkers and genetic difference can be found in different patient groups.

8. Electrophysiological Biomarkers for Parkinson's Disease

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   This study will determine the validity of predictive and surrogate biomarkers for the detection of Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's disease cognitive decline.

9. A Study to Develop Liquid Biopsy for Pediatric Brain Tumor Patients

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to confirm detection of the H3K27M mutation in patient biofluids (CSF, blood, urine, saliva) and uncover the molecular histone (alkaline protein) profile of H3K trimethylation and H3S phosphorylation in the circulating nucleosomes isolated from the biofluids of patients with H3K27M tumors.

10. Gemini Study to Evaluate the Integration of Cancer Genetic Testing into a Cancer Clinical Practice at Mayo Clinic at Arizona

    The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of genetic mutations in cancer patients from various ethnic populations seeking care at Mayo Clinic cancer clinics.
