Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

  1. Confusion
  2. convulsions (seizures)
  3. decrease in amount of urine or in frequency of urination
  4. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  5. headache or dizziness
  6. increased thirst
  7. muscle cramps
  8. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in hands or feet
  9. numbness or tingling around lips
  10. shortness of breath or troubled breathing
  11. swelling of feet or lower legs
  12. tremor
  13. unexplained anxiety
  14. unusual tiredness or weakness
  15. weakness or heaviness of legs
  16. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
