Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blood in urine or stools
  3. burning or itching of vagina
  4. chest pain
  5. chills
  6. confusion
  7. convulsions (seizures)
  8. cough
  9. dark urine
  10. diarrhea
  11. difficulty in breathing
  12. discharge from vagina
  13. discomfort, inflammation, or swelling at the injection site
  14. dizziness
  15. eye pain
  16. fever
  17. flu-like symptoms
  18. general feeling of illness
  19. headache
  20. hives
  21. light gray-colored stools
  22. loss of appetite
  23. numbness of tongue
  24. pinpoint red spots on skin
  25. seeing double
  26. skin rash, redness, or itching
  27. sore throat
  28. unusual bleeding or bruising
  29. unusual tiredness or weakness
  30. yellow skin or eyes

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common or rare

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps
  2. altered sense of taste
  3. bad breath
  4. breast tenderness
  5. burning or prickling feeling of skin
  6. flushing
  7. increased sweating
  8. mouth ulcers
  9. muscular aches
  10. nasal congestion
  11. nausea or vomiting
  12. ringing, buzzing, or noise in ear
  13. small, nonraised, round, purplish or red spots on skin
  14. sneezing
  15. trouble in sleeping
