The purpose of this study is to determine the rate at which patients who underwent Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) trial ultimately progressed to SCS implantation, determine the percentage of patients who continued using their SCS system after 5 years, as well as identify patient characteristics that lead to SCS discontinuation. A Study to Evaluate Neurostimulation to Treat Chronic Upper Limb Pain After Brachial Plexus Injury Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla. This study is designed to assess the degree to which high-frequency spinal cord stimulation may help with pain after brachial plexus avulsion injury. Cutaneous Autonomic Innervation in Skin Pressure Injury Pathophysiology After Spinal Cord Injury Rochester, Minn. The overall goal of this research is to investigate potential differences in the regulation of skin blood flow in individuals with spinal cord injury. A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Diaphragmatic Breathing on Reflux Symptoms in Outpatients Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to establish if abdominal breathing exercises can reduce symptoms associated with reflux. Analysis of Orthobiologic Agents (OBA) for Painful Musculoskeletal Conditions and Tissue Regeneration Jacksonville, Fla. The objectives of this study are to determine the effect of patient factors and manufacturing procedures on OBA product characteristics, to assess the clinical outcomes of patients affected by multiple painful musculoskeletal disorders and tissue regeneration needs that are treated with guided procedures in the Mayo Clinic Pain practice, to assess genetic and epigenetic factors associated to multiple painful musculoskeletal disorders and tissue regeneration needs, to determine the effect of OBA characteristics on patient outcomes for patients treated with OBA procedures, including a reference group of patients not receiving OBAs as part of their medical care. Mayo Clinic Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Rehabilitation Research Registry Rochester, Minn. This will be a prospective registry conducted and maintained at Mayo Clinic Rochester from which collaborating sites within Mayo, Mayo Health Systems, and other spinal cord injury centers can draw from in order to fulfill research enrollment. The information collected for this registry will be used for recruitment purposes only, and will not be used as research data. Participants who are recruited to participate in other research studies will need to complete a separate consenting/enrollment process specific to that study. The primary aim of this study is to develop a deeper understanding of the kinetics and kinematics of the baseball swing. Secondary aims include: describing the relative stress/forces across major lower extremity joints and spine during the baseball swing, assessing the intra- and inter-batter variability in the swing, determining how kinetics/kinematics vary across different batting scenarios, determining how kinetics/kinematics vary across different batting efforts, correlating swing kinetics with bat velocity, correlating swing kinetics with ball exit velocity, assessing the validity and reliability of various wearable devices compared to motion capture, determining the impact of bat weight on swing kinetics/kinematics, determining the impact of ball weight on swing kinetics/kinematics, assessment of eye tracking, and comparison of male baseball swing to female softball swing. Traditionally, batting mechanics have been analyzed qualitatively during direct observation or by viewing video tapes of batting motions. More recently, sophisticated motion analysis systems have facilitated the collection of quantitative, three-dimensional kinematic information of the batting motion. These advancements provide the opportunity for more detailed analyses of batting motions that can be integrated into the evaluation and treatment of baseball batters at the Mayo Clinic, with the hypothesis that metrics gathered from the force plates and motion capture are more reliable than the Motus wearables.
