   The purpose of this study is to assess the validity and reliability of teleconferencing measurements for elbow and ankle joint range of motion (ROM).

2. A Study to Evaluate Photon Counting Detector CT Utility in Identifying Acute Wrist Fractures.

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to examine the ability of PCD-CT to (1) display subtle fractures of the wrist using the system’s increased spatial resolution compared to conventional wrist CT and MR; and (2)  evaluate the ability of PCD-CT with virtual non-calcium images to identify bone marrow edema at acute fracture sites.

    

3. Comparative Effectiveness of Pulmonary Embolism Prevention After Hip and Knee Replacement

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz.

   PEPPER is a randomized study comparing the three most commonly used anticoagulants in North America in patients who have elected to undergo primary or revision hip or knee joint replacement surgery. The anticoagulants being compared are enteric coated aspirin, low intensity warfarin, and rivaroxaban.

4. A Study to Evaluate the Effects of Physical Therapy on Patients Treated with Surgery (Periacetabular Osteotomy or PAO) for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH)

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to assess perioperative and postoperative outcomes to date in patients treated with surgery (Periacetabular Osteotomy or PAO) for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) receiving formal postoperative physical therapy versus those patients who did not receive formal postoperative physical therapy.

8. Identification of Predictors for Clinical Outcomes in Femoroacetabular Impingement Surgery

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to improve the surgical treatment outcomes of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), which is affecting an increasing number of military personnel and young active individuals in the general population. The proposed study will investigate critical patient, disease, and surgical treatment predictors of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) surgery outcomes.

9. A Study of Scoliosis Survey to Development Treatment Decision Tool

   Rochester, Minn.

   This is a survey, with the option of uploading prior clinical imaging (x-rays, etc), with the aim to study the burden of scoliosis disease over time and the results of treatment (specifically the results of nonfusion and fusion scoliosis surgery).  Our goal is to report these results back to the community of people with scoliosis and also publish our results in the medical literature.
