Bhanu Kolla, M.D., MRCPsych, is a psychiatrist with specialty training in sleep medicine and addiction psychiatry. He works both at the center for sleep medicine and the division of addiction medicine. His clinical and research focus includes:

  • Comprehensive assessment and management of addictive disorders , including alcoholism and other addictions
  • Assessment and management of sleep disorders including, sleep apnea, insomnia, a restless leg symptoms, excessive sleepiness and parasomnias
  • Assessment and management of the overlap between sleep disorders and addictions
  • His main areas of research include understanding the course of sleep disturbances following abstinence, identifying specific sleep disruptions that might increase risk of relapse and developing treatment strategies to reduce sleep disruption and minimize relapse risk

In addition, Dr. Kolla is actively involved in education, providing mentorship to medical students, residents and fellows. He is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and has multiple publications in high impact journals.
