Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Drooping upper eyelids
  2. partial or slight paralysis of the face

Incidence not known

  1. Blurred vision
  2. change in color vision
  3. change in patterns and rhythms of speech
  4. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  5. cough
  6. difficulty seeing at night
  7. difficulty swallowing
  8. dizziness
  9. double vision
  10. dry eye
  11. eye irritation
  12. fainting
  13. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  14. feeling of discomfort
  15. fever
  16. hives, itching, or skin rash
  17. hoarseness
  18. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  19. infection from breathing foreign substance into the lungs
  20. joint inflammation
  21. loss of bladder control
  22. muscle aches and weakness
  23. nausea
  24. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  25. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  26. seeing double
  27. slurred speech
  28. sore throat
  29. sweating
  30. swollen lymph glands
  31. trouble breathing
  32. trouble in speaking
  33. voice changes
  34. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. headache
