1. Early Naturalistic Hands-on Autism Caregiver Training

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to pilot test the ENHANCE intervention to evaluate methodology, feasibility based on caregiver input, and preliminary caregiver satisfaction. The primary outcomes will be feedback from parents, participant completion/atrition rates, the interventionist study log, and interventionist/caregiver/fidelity. Second, we aim to examine preliminary impact of the naturalistic intervention on child social communication and repetitive behavior in order to estimate clinically meaningful change for future research studies. 

2. Using Authentic Stories to Build Resilience Among Medical Professionals

   Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to adapt a collection of authentic stories to a performance designed to improve vulnerability awareness and empathy, as well as encourage supportive behavior among Mayo Clinic students, residents, and faculty.

3. Intravenous Ketamine for Treatment-Resistant Depression (G2K)

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to to evaluate the relationships between peak (% change from baseline) central GABA and Glu levels during a 40-min IV ketamine or normal saline infusion utilizing fMRS, and change in peripheral GABA and Glu levels from baseline to 40 minute postinfusion utilizing LCMS, with baseline to 24-hr post-infusion change in depression (MADRS) in 30 TRD adults.

4. Attitudes and Beliefs About Gene Transfer Therapy in Adults with Cocaine Use Disorder

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to investigate the facilitators and barriers of adults with a history of cocaine use disorder (CocUD) in sustained remission to participating in a Phase I gene transfer study aimed at reducing the rate of cocaine relapse. 

5. A Study to Build Translational Science through an Online Social Media Community Partnership Among Minnesota Communities, the CTSA Community Engagement Programs at Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to develop and pilot a novel community-engaged communication network statewide in Minnesota through social media; to assess community knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of ongoing and completed research, and to increase access to information about and participation in research. 

6. A Study Evaluating the Use of 48-hour Ambulatory EEG Monitoring in Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to characterize and study the relationship of the clinical risk factors and predictors of seizures and epilepsy in patients with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease (EOAD) using a 48-hour CAA-EEG.

7. A Study of Early-onset Alzheimer's Disease

   Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this Longitudinal Early-onset Alzheimer's Disease Study (LEADS) is designed to look at disease progression in individuals with early onset cognitive impairment . Clinical/cognitive, imaging, biomarker, and genetic characteristics will be assessed across three cohorts: (1) early onset Alzheimer's Disease (EOAD) participants, (2) early onset non-Alzheimer's Disease (EO-nonAD) participants,and (3) cognitively normal (CN) control participants.

8. Brain Health and Dementia Prevention Registry

   Jacksonville, Fla.

   The purpose of this study is to create a registry of patients having a clinical diagnosis and collect demographics, cognitive testing, blood and cerebrospinal fluid so that biomarkers and genetic difference can be found in different patient groups.

9. Happigenius Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum in Rochester Public Schools

   Rochester, Minn.

   The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness of HappiGenius curriculum in 3rd grade students attending elementary school in the Rochester Public Schools system (Rochester, MN). Convenience samples are selected from students in classrooms receiving the HappiGenius curriculum in their normal school curriculum and students in classrooms that have opted not to have HappiGenius in their classroom this term. For the study, questionnaires will be administered at the start and conclusion of HappiGenius lessons to determine whether HappiGenius curriculum delivers the core competencies of improved attention, positive affect, self-awareness, sociality, and self-kindness.

10. A Study to Investigate Biomarkers for Phenotyping of Neurodegenerative Disorders

    Jacksonville, Fla.

    The primary purpose of this study is to create a Mayo Clinic repository for  neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), Parkinson’s disease dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies (PDD/DLB), multiple system atrophy (MSA), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), cortico-basal degeneration (CBD), and other even rarer forms of neurodegeneration.
