Level I Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center

As a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, is able to provide expert specialty care for all injured adults and children 24 hours day, seven days a week. Trauma physicians are available to work with providers outside of Mayo Clinic. Telephone consultations and referrals may be arranged by contacting the Minnesota Admission and Transfer Center.

Experienced nursing staff is available to coordinate direct admission, emergency department evaluation or consultation on your patients. Additionally, safe transportation using Mayo Clinic Medical Transport can be coordinated for airplane, helicopter or ground transportation through the same phone call.

Mayo Clinic Medical Transport

Mayo Clinic Medical Transport is able to provide specialized transportation by air or ground.

Mayo One, an emergency medical helicopter, provides high-level critical care and rapid transport. Mayo One is a flying trauma center, carrying mechanical ventilators, oxygen, medication infusion pumps, monitoring equipment, packed red blood cells and thawed plasma. The highly trained staff is able to perform lifesaving interventions as needed. Specialized transport teams are also available for NICU or pediatric patients. In addition, airplane service is available when longer distances are involved or weather hampers helicopter travel.
