Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Back pain
  2. bladder pain
  3. bleeding from the gums or nose
  4. bloody or cloudy urine
  5. bluish lips or skin
  6. changes in mood
  7. chills
  8. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  9. dizziness
  10. eye pain
  11. fever
  12. frequent urge to urinate
  13. groin pain
  14. headache
  15. irritability
  16. lower back or side pain
  17. muscle aches
  18. pain or burning with urination
  19. ringing in the ears
  20. stomach pain
  21. swelling of the arm or leg

Incidence not known

  1. Arm, back, or jaw pain
  2. black, tarry stools
  3. chest pain or discomfort
  4. confusion
  5. cough or urge to cough
  6. decrease in amount of urine
  7. difficulty with breathing
  8. difficulty with swallowing
  9. fainting
  10. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  11. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  12. nausea
  13. noisy, rattling breathing
  14. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  15. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  16. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  17. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  18. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  19. severe, sudden headache
  20. skin rash, hives, itching
  21. slurred speech
  22. sudden loss of coordination
  23. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  24. sweating
  25. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  26. tightening of your throat
  27. unusual bleeding or bruising
  28. unusual tiredness or weakness
  29. vision changes
  30. vomiting
  31. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Acne or pimples

Less common

  1. Attack, assault, or force
  2. difficulty in moving
  3. joint pain
  4. muscle pain or stiffness
  5. not able to ejaculate semen
  6. pain or redness at the injection site
  7. trouble sleeping
  8. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
  2. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  3. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  4. hearing loss
  5. inability to have or keep an erection
  6. increased in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  7. increased interest in sexual intercourse
  8. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  9. more erections than usual or erections that last a long time
  10. swelling of the breasts or breast soreness in both females and males
