Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common or rare

  1. Blood in the urine
  2. burning or stinging of the skin
  3. dark urine
  4. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  5. fast heartbeat
  6. fever
  7. hoarseness
  8. increased thirst
  9. irritation
  10. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  11. light-colored stools
  12. loss of appetite
  13. lower back or side pain
  14. nausea
  15. pain in the groin or genitals
  16. painful blisters on the trunk of the body
  17. painful cold sores or blisters on the lips, nose, eyes, or genitals
  18. rash, hives, or itching
  19. redness of the skin
  20. sharp back pain just below the ribs
  21. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, lower legs, or feet
  22. tightness in the chest
  23. trouble breathing or swallowing
  24. unusual tiredness or weakness
  25. upper right stomach pain
  26. vomiting
  27. weight gain
  28. yellow eyes and skin

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. headache
  4. muscle cramps, spasms, pain, or stiffness
  5. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  6. stomach pain, continuing
  7. unusual bleeding or bruising

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Dizziness
  2. trouble sleeping

Less common or rare

  1. Belching
  2. depression
  3. heartburn
  4. indigestion
  5. lack or loss of strength
  6. stomach discomfort, upset, or tenderness
  7. thoughts of killing oneself or changes in behavior

Incidence not known

  1. Delusions of persecution, mistrust, suspiciousness, or combativeness
  2. diarrhea
  3. fear or nervousness
