Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain
  3. confusion
  4. convulsions
  5. decrease in the amount of urine
  6. dizziness
  7. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  8. dry mouth
  9. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  10. headache, sudden, severe
  11. increased thirst
  12. irregular heartbeat
  13. loss of appetite
  14. muscle pain or cramps
  15. nausea or vomiting
  16. nervousness
  17. noisy, rattling breathing
  18. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  19. pounding in the ears
  20. slow or fast heartbeat
  21. sweating
  22. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  23. tightness in the chest
  24. troubled breathing
  25. troubled breathing at rest
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. weakness
  28. weight gain

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. blood in the stools or urine
  3. blue lips and fingernails
  4. bruising
  5. chest discomfort
  6. coughing or vomiting blood
  7. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  8. difficult or labored breathing
  9. difficult, fast, noisy breathing, sometimes with wheezing
  10. difficulty with speaking
  11. double vision
  12. fainting
  13. feeling of warmth
  14. headache
  15. hives or welts
  16. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  17. increased sweating
  18. itching
  19. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  20. noisy breathing
  21. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  22. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  23. pale skin
  24. persistent bleeding or oozing from puncture sites, mouth, or nose
  25. rash
  26. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  27. redness of the skin
  28. slow speech
  29. sudden shortness of breath or troubled breathing
  30. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty with moving
  2. muscle pain or stiffness
  3. pain in the joints

Less common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
  3. tearing of skin
  4. trouble sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
