Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. confusion
  3. decreased urination
  4. dizziness
  5. dry mouth
  6. fainting
  7. full or bloated feeling
  8. headache
  9. heartburn
  10. increase in heart rate
  11. irregular heartbeat
  12. lightheadedness
  13. muscle cramps or pain
  14. nervousness
  15. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in the hands or feet
  16. pounding in the ears
  17. pressure in the stomach
  18. rapid breathing
  19. seizures
  20. slow or fast heartbeat
  21. stomach pain or discomfort
  22. sunken eyes
  23. swelling of the stomach area
  24. thirst
  25. trembling
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. vomiting
  28. weakness and heaviness of the legs
  29. wrinkled skin

Rare

  1. Chest tightness
  2. fast, irregular, pounding, or racing heartbeat or pulse
  3. fever
  4. hives, itching, rash
  5. hoarseness
  6. irritation
  7. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  8. redness of the skin
  9. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  10. trouble breathing or swallowing

Incidence not known

  1. Bloody or black, tarry stools
  2. blue lips and fingernails
  3. chest pain
  4. constipation
  5. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  6. difficult, fast, noisy breathing
  7. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  8. pale skin
  9. rapid weight gain
  10. severe stomach pain
  11. swelling in the legs and ankles
  12. swelling of the neck
  13. throat tightness
  14. tingling of the hands or feet
  15. tremor
  16. unusual weight gain or loss
  17. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Nausea

Less common

  1. Sore throat
  2. stuffy or runny nose

Rare

  1. Discomfort in the anus or rectum
  2. feeling of warmth
  3. headache, severe and throbbing
  4. lack or loss of strength
  5. redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest
  6. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
