Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Chest pain
  2. difficult or labored breathing
  3. increased sweating
  4. pain in the limbs
  5. shortness of breath
  6. tightness in the chest
  7. wheezing

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach tenderness
  2. abdominal or stomach pain, usually after eating a meal
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. blood in the urine
  5. bloody nose
  6. bloody stools
  7. constipation
  8. cough or hoarseness
  9. diarrhea
  10. fever with or without chills or sore throat
  11. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  12. heavier menstrual periods
  13. lower back or side pain
  14. nausea
  15. painful or difficult urination
  16. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  17. rectal bleeding
  18. skin rash
  19. sore throat
  20. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  21. unusual bleeding or bruising
  22. unusual tiredness or weakness
  23. vomiting
  24. worsening of heart block

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. confusion
  4. difficulty with breathing
  5. dilated neck veins
  6. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  7. extreme fatigue
  8. irregular breathing
  9. noisy breathing
  10. slow or irregular heartbeat
  11. sweating
  12. swelling of the face, fingers, feet, or lower legs
  13. weight gain

  3. body aches or pain
  4. chills
  5. difficulty with breathing
  6. ear congestion
  7. fever
  8. heartburn
  9. indigestion
  10. lack or loss of strength
  11. loss of voice
  12. nasal congestion
  13. nausea
  14. runny nose
  15. sleeplessness
  16. sneezing
  17. sore throat
  18. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  19. trouble sleeping
  20. unable to sleep

Rare

  1. Decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  2. inability to have or keep an erection
  3. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance

Incidence not known

  1. Crying
  2. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  3. depersonalization
  4. dysphoria
  5. euphoria
  6. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  7. memory loss
  8. mental depression
  9. mimicry of speech or movements
  10. mutism
  11. negativism
  12. pain of the penis on erection
  13. paranoia
  14. peculiar postures or movements, mannerisms or grimacing
  15. quick to react or overreact emotionally
  16. rapidly changing moods
  17. reddened skin
  18. severe sleepiness
  19. skin rash
