Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Anxiety
  2. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, ankles, or feet
  3. chest pain
  4. chills
  5. confusion
  6. constipation
  7. convulsions
  8. cough
  9. decreased urination
  10. deep cracks, grooves, or lines in the skin
  11. diarrhea
  12. difficulty with swallowing
  13. discoloration of the fingernails or toenails
  14. drowsiness
  15. dry mouth, lips, or skin
  16. fainting
  17. fast or irregular heartbeat
  18. fever
  19. flushing or redness of the skin
  20. increased thirst
  21. itching, pain, and swelling of the eyelid
  22. itching, skin rash
  23. loosening of the fingernails
  24. loss of appetite
  25. muscle pain or cramps
  26. muscle spasms or twitching
  27. nausea
  28. rapid weight gain
  29. rapid, shallow breathing
  30. redness or soreness around the fingernails
  31. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips, tongue, or inside the mouth
  32. stomach pain
  33. sunken eyes
  34. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  35. tearing of the eyes
  36. tingling of the hands or feet
  37. trembling
  38. troubled breathing
  39. unusual tiredness or weakness
  40. unusual weight gain or loss
  41. unusually warm skin
  42. vomiting

Less common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  3. discharge from the eyes or excessive tearing
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  5. facial swelling
  6. headache
  7. hives
  8. noisy breathing
  9. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  10. sweating
  11. swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  12. tightness in the chest

Rare

  1. Chest discomfort
  2. painful breathing
  3. quick, shallow breathing
  4. slight fever

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, or warmth at the injection site
  2. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
