Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. chest pain
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. difficulty breathing
  8. fever
  9. hoarseness
  10. loss of voice
  11. lower back or side pain
  12. nosebleeds
  13. painful or difficult urination
  14. pale skin
  15. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  16. sore throat
  17. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  18. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  19. swollen glands
  20. trouble breathing
  21. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  22. unusual bleeding or bruising
  23. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. General feeling of discomfort or illness
  2. redness, swelling, or pain of the skin
  3. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  4. thickening of bronchial secretions
  5. tingling of the hands and feet
  6. ulceration of the skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. decreased appetite
  3. diarrhea
  4. dry skin
  5. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  6. increased tearing
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. loss of or change in taste
  9. nausea
  10. skin rash
  11. vomiting

Less common

  1. Dry eye
