Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Agitation
  2. bloody diarrhea
  3. blood in the urine
  4. coma
  5. confusion
  6. dark-colored urine
  7. decreased urine output
  8. depression
  9. dizziness
  10. fever
  11. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  12. headache
  13. hostility
  14. increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight
  15. irritability
  16. itching, skin rash
  17. lethargy
  18. light-colored stools
  19. muscle twitching
  20. nausea
  21. pain in the groin or genitals
  22. rapid weight gain
  23. redness or other discoloration of the skin
  24. seizures
  25. severe sunburn
  26. sharp back pain just below ribs
  27. stomach pain
  28. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  29. unusual tiredness or weakness
  30. vomiting
  31. yellow eyes or skin

Less common

  1. Pale skin
  2. trouble breathing
  3. unusual bleeding or bruising

Rare

  1. Back pain
  2. fast heartbeat
  3. swelling of the stomach

Incidence not know

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. chest pain
  3. chills
  4. cough
  5. diarrhea
  6. joint or muscle pain
  7. painful or difficult urination
  8. red, irritated eyes
  9. red skin lesions often with a purple center
  10. sore throat
  11. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  12. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  13. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  14. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. loss of appetite

Less common

  1. Aching joints and muscles
  2. acid or sour stomach
  3. acne
  4. anxiety
  5. belching
  6. bloated or full feeling
  7. body aches or pain
  8. bone pain
  9. congestion
  10. constipation
  11. coughing
  12. cramps
  13. difficulty with moving
  14. dizziness or drowsiness
  15. heartburn
  16. hoarseness
  17. indigestion
  18. muscle stiffness
  19. passing of gas
  20. shivering
  21. sleeplessness
  22. sneezing
  23. stomach discomfort or upset
  24. sweating
  25. swelling or inflammation of the mouth
  26. swollen joints
  27. tender, swollen glands in the neck
  28. trouble with sleeping
  29. trouble with swallowing
  30. unable to sleep
  31. voice changes
  32. weight loss

Rare

  1. Decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  2. flushing, redness of the skin
  3. hair loss or thinning of the hair
  4. inability to have or keep an erection
  5. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  6. unusually warm skin
