Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bleeding from the gums
  2. chills
  3. dental pain
  4. fever
  5. pain, redness, and swelling in the mouth
  6. problems with teeth
  7. redness or swelling of the gums
  8. toothache

Less common

  1. Bad taste in the mouth
  2. discharge from the gums
  3. foul breath odor
  4. painful sores in the mouth
  5. problems in the lining of the mouth

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Headache

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. cough
  4. heartburn
  5. increased sensitivity to sunlight
  6. indigestion
  7. pain
  8. pain in the joints or muscles
  9. runny nose
  10. sneezing
  11. sore throat
  12. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
