Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Chills
  2. clay colored stools
  3. dark urine
  4. difficulty with breathing
  5. difficulty with speaking or swallowing
  6. dizziness or fainting
  7. fast or irregular heartbeat
  8. fever
  9. general feeling of tiredness or weakness
  10. headache (severe or continuing)
  11. inability to move the eyes
  12. increase in blood pressure
  13. increased sweating
  14. itching, skin rash
  15. lip smacking or puckering
  16. loss of appetite
  17. loss of balance control
  18. loss of bladder control
  19. mask-like face
  20. muscle spasms of the face, neck, and back
  21. nausea
  22. puffing of the cheeks
  23. rapid or worm-like movements of the tongue
  24. seizures
  25. shuffling walk
  26. sore throat
  27. stiffness of the arms or legs
  28. stomach pain or tenderness
  29. swelling of the feet or lower legs
  30. tic-like or twitching movements
  31. trembling and shaking of the hands and fingers
  32. twisting movements of the body
  33. uncontrolled chewing movements
  34. uncontrolled movements of the arms and legs
  35. unusually pale skin
  36. vomiting
  37. weakness of the arms and legs
  38. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Confusion
  2. drowsiness (severe)

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. drowsiness
  3. loss of strength or energy
  4. muscle pain or weakness
  5. restlessness
  6. unusual weak feeling

Incidence not known

  1. Breast tenderness and swelling
  2. changes in menstruation
  3. constipation
  4. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  5. inability to have or keep an erection
  6. increased flow of breast milk
  7. increased need to urinate
  8. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  9. mental depression
  10. passing urine more often
  11. skin rash
  12. trouble sleeping
  13. unusual dryness of the mouth
  14. unusual irritability

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
