Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Fever
  2. irregular heartbeat
  3. nausea
  4. pain in the upper abdominal area and back
  5. vomiting


  1. Changes in skin color of the face
  2. chills
  3. cough or hoarseness
  4. decreased amount and frequency of urination
  5. difficulty in breathing, such as fast or irregular breathing, shortness of breath, tightness in chest, and/or wheezing
  6. fainting or loss of consciousness
  7. husky voice
  8. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes
  9. skin rash and/or itching
  10. swelling of the face
  11. unusual tiredness or weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Drowsiness
  2. general feeling of discomfort
  3. headache
  4. joint pain
  5. loss of appetite
  6. muscle pain
  7. stomach pain

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
