Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. absent, missed, or irregular menstrual periods
  3. anxiety
  4. blurred vision
  5. breast pain or tenderness
  6. changes in skin color
  7. chills
  8. clay-colored stools
  9. cough
  10. dark urine
  11. decrease in amount of urine
  12. diarrhea
  13. difficulty swallowing
  14. dizziness or lightheadedness
  15. eye pain
  16. fainting
  17. fast heartbeat
  18. fever
  19. headache
  20. hives or welts, itching, redness, swelling, or skin rash
  21. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  22. loss of appetite
  23. menstrual changes
  24. nausea
  25. noisy, rattling breathing
  26. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  27. pain, tenderness, or swelling of the foot or leg
  28. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  29. severe, sudden headache
  30. shortness of breath
  31. slurred speech
  32. stopping of menstrual bleeding
  33. sudden loss of coordination
  34. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  35. sudden, unexplained shortness of breath
  36. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  37. troubled breathing at rest
  38. unexpected or excess milk flow from the breasts
  39. unpleasant breath odor
  40. unusual tiredness or weakness
  41. vaginal bleeding or spotting
  42. vision changes
  43. vomiting of blood
  44. weight gain
  45. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Blemishes on the skin
  2. discouragement
  3. feeling sad or empty
  4. hair loss, thinning of hair
  5. increased hair growth, especially on the face
  6. irritability
  7. lack of appetite
  8. loss of interest or pleasure
  9. nervousness
  10. pimples
  11. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
  12. tiredness
  13. trouble concentrating
  14. trouble sleeping
  15. weight changes
