Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Skin rash

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering and peeling of the skin
  2. pain
  3. reddened skin
  4. swelling

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Abdominal or stomach cramps
  2. anxiety or restlessness
  3. clumsiness or unsteadiness
  4. confusion or mental depression
  5. convulsions (seizures)
  6. diarrhea
  7. difficult or labored breathing
  8. dizziness
  9. drowsiness
  10. increased sweating
  11. increased watering of the mouth or eyes
  12. loss of bowel or bladder control
  13. muscle twitching of the eyelids, face, and neck
  14. pinpoint pupils
  15. slow heartbeat
  16. trembling
  17. unusual weakness

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common or rare

  1. Burning, dry, or itching eyes
  2. discharge or excessive tearing
  3. redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, inner lining of the eyelid
  4. stinging or irritation of the scalp

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
