Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

1. Blurred vision
2. confusion
3. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
4. sweating
5. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

1. Chest pain or discomfort
2. cough
3. difficulty with breathing
4. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat
5. increased need to urinate
6. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
7. mental depression
8. noisy breathing
9. passing urine more often
10. tightness in the chest

Incidence not known

1. Agitation
2. back pain
3. cracks in the skin
4. drowsiness
5. fast, pounding, or irregular pulse
6. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
7. fever
8. headache
9. irritability
10. loss of consciousness
11. loss of heat from the body
12. mood or mental changes
13. numbness or tingling in the arms, legs, or face
14. red, swollen skin
15. scaly skin
16. seeing or hearing things that are not there
17. seizures
18. sensation of spinning
19. stiff neck
20. swelling
21. vomiting
22. weakness

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

1. Dizziness (extreme) or faintness
2. unusual tiredness or weakness (severe)

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

1. Constipation
2. dizziness
3. dryness of the mouth
4. nausea
5. sleepiness or unusual drowsiness
6. unusual dullness or feeling of sluggishness
7. upper abdominal or stomach pain
8. weight gain

Less common

1. Belching
2. decreased appetite
3. decreased sexual ability
4. dry, itching, or burning eyes
5. heartburn
6. indigestion
7. lack or loss of strength
8. paleness of the skin
9. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
10. trouble with sleeping

Incidence not known

1. Change in taste
2. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
3. difficulty in moving
4. general feeling of discomfort or illness
5. hair loss, thinning of hair
6. inability to have or keep an erection
7. joint pain or swelling
8. leg cramp or pain
9. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
10. muscle ache, cramp, pain, or stiffness
11. seeing or hearing things that are not there

After you stop using this medicine, it may still produce some side effects that need attention. During this period of time, check with your doctor immediately if you notice the following side effects:
