Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. chest tightness
  5. confusion
  6. difficult or labored breathing
  7. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  8. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  9. feeling of warmth
  10. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  11. hives or welts, itching, or skin rash
  12. loss of consciousness
  13. paleness of the skin
  14. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  15. redness of the skin
  16. seizures
  17. sweating
  18. unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known

  1. Bluish color of the fingernails, lips, skin, palms, or nail beds
  2. burning sensation
  3. burning, dry, or itching eyes
  4. chest pain
  5. cough
  6. decreased or uncontrolled urination
  7. deep bone pain
  8. difficulty with swallowing
  9. discharge or excessive tearing
  10. hoarseness
  11. increased sweating
  12. lack or loss of strength
  13. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  14. muscle stiffness or weakness
  15. no blood pressure or pulse
  16. no breathing
  17. noisy breathing
  18. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in the hands or feet
  19. paralysis or severe weakness of the legs
  20. redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  21. skin rash, swelling, hardness, tightness, burning, itching, or red or dark patches
  22. slow or irregular breathing
  23. sneezing
  24. stiff joints or trouble moving
  25. stopping of the heart
  26. swelling of the mouth or throat
  27. uncontrolled bowel movements
  28. uncontrolled movements of the body

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Headache
  2. nausea

Rare

  1. Change in sense of smell
  2. change in taste
  3. dizziness
  4. dry mouth
  5. feeling hot or cold
  6. loss of taste
  7. unusually warm skin
  8. vomiting

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
