Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Collection of blood or fluids under the skin
  2. deep, dark purple bruise
  3. itching, pain, redness, or swelling of the skin, wound, or treated area

Incidence not known

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  3. confusion
  4. cough
  5. difficulty breathing
  6. difficulty swallowing
  7. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  8. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  9. flushing, redness of the skin
  10. hives, itching, skin rash
  11. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  12. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  13. numbness or tingling in the face, arms, or legs
  14. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  15. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  16. severe, sudden headache
  17. shortness of breath
  18. slurred speech
  19. sudden loss of coordination
  20. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  21. sweating
  22. trouble healing
  23. trouble speaking or walking
  24. unusual tiredness or weakness
  25. unusually warm skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Incidence not known

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. nausea
