Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Skin rash or hives
  2. dizziness or faintness
  3. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness

Rare

  1. Darkening of urine, itching, pale stools, yellow eyes or skin
  2. unusual bleeding or bruising

Symptoms of overdose

  1. confusion (continuing)
  2. decrease in or other change in vision
  3. double vision
  4. fever, chills, or sore throat
  5. low body temperature
  6. numbness, tingling, pain, or weakness in hands or feet
  7. overactive reflexes
  8. pale skin
  9. shakiness and unsteady walk, clumsiness, unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  10. shortness of breath or slow or troubled breathing
  11. slow heartbeat
  12. slurred speech
  13. trembling
  14. unusual bleeding or bruising
  15. unusual movements of the eyes
  16. unusual tiredness or weakness (severe)

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blurred vision
  2. dizziness or light-headedness
  3. low blood pressure
  4. indigestion
  5. nausea or vomiting
  6. numbness of face
  7. stomach pain
  8. unpleasant aftertaste
  9. unusual tiredness or weakness

Less common

  1. Clumsiness or unsteadiness
  2. confusion
  3. drowsiness (daytime)

After you stop using this medicine, it may still produce some side effects that need attention. During this period of time, check with your doctor immediately if you notice the following side effects:
