Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Awkwardness
  2. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations or weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
  3. cough
  4. headache
  5. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  6. stuffy or runny nose
  7. tightness of the chest
  8. troubled breathing
  9. unsteadiness

Less common

  1. Bloating
  2. chills
  3. constipation
  4. dark urine
  5. dry or itching eyes
  6. excessive tearing
  7. eye discharge
  8. fast heartbeat
  9. fever
  10. indigestion
  11. itching, pain, redness, swelling, tenderness, or warmth on the skin at the injection site
  12. loss of appetite
  13. lump or growth on the skin
  14. nausea
  15. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  16. redness, pain, swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  17. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  18. vomiting
  19. yellow eyes or skin

Rare

  1. Difficulty in swallowing
  2. skin itching, rash, or redness
  3. swelling of the face, throat, or tongue

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. chest pain
  5. decreased frequency or amount of urine
  6. inability to move the arms and legs
  7. increased blood pressure
  8. increased thirst
  9. lower back or side pain
  10. painful or difficult urination
  11. pale skin
  12. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  13. sneezing
  14. sore throat
  15. sudden numbness and weakness in the arms and legs
  16. swelling of the face, fingers, lower legs
  17. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  18. unusual bleeding or bruising
  19. unusual tiredness or weakness
  20. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Abnormal growth filled with fluid or semisolid material
  2. bruising
  3. burning or stinging of the skin
  4. decreased appetite
  5. diarrhea
  6. discouragement
  7. dry mouth
  8. fear
  9. feeling sad or empty
  10. hard lump
  11. irritability
  12. lack or loss of strength
  13. large, flat, blue or purplish patches in the skin
  14. muscle pain
  15. nervousness
  16. painful cold sores or blisters on the lips, nose, eyes, or genitals
  17. small lumps under the skin
  18. trouble concentrating
  19. trouble sleeping
  20. unusually warm skin
  21. weight loss

Less common

  1. Bad, unusual, or unpleasant (after) taste
  2. burning, itching, and pain in hairy areas
  3. change in taste
  4. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  5. joint pain
  6. pus at the hair root
  7. stomach pain
