Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Black, tarry, stools
  2. body aches or pain
  3. burning, dry or itching eyes
  4. change in hearing
  5. chest pain
  6. chills
  7. cough
  8. coughing or spitting up blood
  9. diarrhea
  10. difficulty in breathing
  11. discharge, excessive tearing
  12. ear congestion
  13. ear drainage
  14. earache
  15. fever
  16. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  17. headache
  18. itching in the genitals or other skin areas
  19. itching of the ears
  20. joint pain
  21. loss of appetite
  22. loss of voice
  23. lower back or side pain
  24. muscle aches and pains
  25. nasal congestion
  26. nausea
  27. painful or difficult urination
  28. pale skin
  29. redness, pain, or swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
  30. runny nose
  31. scaling
  32. seizures
  33. severe pain in the side and back
  34. shivering
  35. sneezing
  36. sore mouth or tongue
  37. sore throat
  38. stiff neck
  39. stomach cramps and pain
  40. sweating
  41. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  42. thickening of bronchial secretions
  43. trouble sleeping
  44. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  45. unusual bleeding or bruising
  46. unusual tiredness or weakness
  47. vomiting
  48. watery diarrhea

Incidence not known

  1. Back, leg, or stomach pains
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. dark urine
  5. dizziness
  6. general body swelling
  7. nosebleeds
  8. pain, warmth, or burning in the fingers, toes, and legs
  9. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  10. problems with vision or hearing
  11. weight loss
  12. yellowing of the eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Change in walking and balance
  2. clumsiness or unsteadiness
  3. difficulty in moving
  4. ear canal irritation
  5. headache, severe and throbbing
  6. injection site discomfort
  7. lack or loss of strength
  8. mouth or throat pain
  9. muscle pain or stiffness
  10. rash
  11. swelling of the face or nose
  12. tearing of the skin
  13. tooth pain
  14. upper stomach pain

Incidence not known

  1. Redness and itching at the injection site
